July 03, Item DB update.

The item database was updated, several new equips and headgears are available, though the headgear shops have not been updated yet (will be in a near future). Make sure to update your RO installation and bdata.grf to not crash from the new items!

July 3

  • Updated the bdata.grf.
  • Updated the item_db: battle ground items as well as numerous new headgears/items went in.
  • Dust's skill delay is no more (to mimic Brandish spear closer).
  • Backsliding now has a 0.1+0.2*lv sec delay (as its current incarnation made it more of a quick movement, rather than evasion, skill).

June 29, a change of pace.

Today's update has a few mechanic game changes, inspired in part by RO's renewal system and in part to fix the huge min~max damage range that everyone has been victim of as of late.

General

  • Added party leader aura bonuses. Now players in sight of the party leader will receive a small bonus based off the leader's base class:
    • Acolyte: +5% MDEF2
    • Archer: +5% HIT
    • Mage: +5% Max SP
    • Merchant: +5% DEF2
    • Novice: +3% BATK
    • Taekwon: +3% MATK
    • Thief: +5% FLEE
    • Swordman: +5% Max HP
  • Updated the antique reseller so that items are only removed from the shop if they have been up for sale 8+ hours.
  • Added Magmaring to Poring Box list.
  • Pets picking an attack target right after their current target dies is now based on chance based on life remaining.

Game Mechanics

  • Guild Tax is now applied after player penalties, this enables pet to bypass it.
  • Changed the equation for flee/hit/def2/mdef2 to take into account additional stats, and giving a bit more of weight to base rather than job level:
    • Flee: Agi + Dex/2 + Lv/2 + JobLv/4
    • Hit: Dex + Int/2 + Lv/2 + JobLv/4
    • Def2: Vit + Agi/2 + Lv/2 + JobLv/4
    • MDef2: Int + Vit/2 + Lv/2 + JobLv/4
  • Changed the min damage equation to be (bAtk + Masteries) increased by (Weapon Attack + Hit)/2%
  • Changed Flee Defence to be a fixed Flee/2 reduction on bAtk (modified by angle of attack, of course).
  • Changed the Flee bonus of equipment to be a percent of Flee rather than a fixed flee value. Bonus values are no longer modified by refine rate. Target boost values are:
    • Armor: +2%
    • Shield: +3%
    • Shoes/Weapons: +4%
    • Garment: +5%

Bug Fixes

  • Corrected the selling price of multiple items that had an unusual default selling price of 1z or 2z (eg: refined weapons)
  • Fixed bomb poring not appearing out of poring boxes.
  • Monster summon count will now be based on number of players in sight, rather than number of players in map (the latter is fixed after engaging in combat).
  • Fixed the Kafra Voting NPC sometimes telling you to wait before voting despite being offline for long periods of time.
  • Fixed the selling price of some items being set based on their default (before MouRO adjustments) properties.

June 22, Bug Fixing

As usual, every major update has a few leaked bugs waiting to be fixed. Though there are also new updates, too.

General

  • Added missing warps to the Yggdrasil map to allow walking back from Niflheim into Umbala dungeon.
  • Increased a bit the amount of plants found in the Yggdrasil map.
  • Adjusted the race-exp rings to give 1% more exp from all monsters, and 5% exp from the target race.
  • Added Mushroom Spores to the alchemist ingredients shop.

Monsters

  • Monsters who acquire a cart will now also become looters by default.
  • The drop rate of monsters will now slightly go up as they gain levels.
  • Plant spawn quantities are no longer affected by the "spawn quantity" config, as a result there should be a few more plants around now.
  • Added Pouring, Bomb Poring and Pori Pori to the Poring Box spawn list.

Skills

  • High Jump's cast time is now 0.5 + 0.1*lv sec.
  • Dispell no longer removes standard status changes (poison, petrify, etc, etc)
  • Reduced the song-cancel delay of Adaptation to 3 secs.
  • Changed the Critical Wounds' Heal reduction equation to 20+7*lv.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed Guardian summoned monsters not having their level set according to the master's.
  • Fixed the login/logout announce not checking the correct "offline" duration before doing the announce.
  • Fixed the HP of summoned alchemist plants (previously it used only HP rate of mobs, and didn't even account the HP boost of a single player on a map, causing them to have less HP than normal mobs).
  • Fixed the "Castle Defense" remaining time announce being displayed on monster infested castles, and made it display the correct remaining duration as well.
  • Fixed the Emperium and Guardian HP being reduced due to the monster HP rate config settings.
  • Fixed characters who are inside a castle before WoE begins not being tagged as "defenders" once it starts.
  • Increased the trigger rate at which Emperiums recall guardians/Mvps.
  • Fixed Provoke's splash area affecting non-enemies (including caster).

June 18, WoE Resurrection

And... another update. The most remarkable thing this time around is the new adaptive WoE system.

General

  • Updated the bdata.grf. Updated the max level of Cultivation.
  • Main chat messages now are also displayed on the top of characters as normal chats.
  • Updated the MvP Simulation room monsters.
  • Updated the login/logout announce script to avoid spamming on character changes. A login is only announced if your account has been offline more than three minutes, a logout is only announced if you've been online more than thirty minutes.

Monsters

  • You can no longer clone monsters that cannot spawn normally.
  • Adjusted and added Bomb Poring and Pouring as normal monsters.
  • Removed the HP bar from MVPs that are slaves.
  • Increased the delay with which Pori Pori summons monsters.

WoE

  • Removed the "treasure chest protection" which kicks out anybody but the guild leader from the treasure room. There's no @warp, so if you got there, a guild leader must have let you.
  • Changed WoE schedules once again. Now there are only two timezones: Al De Baran & Prontera: Atlantic Time (GMT-5), Geffen & Payon: European Time (GMT+1). Weekday castle-invasion woes hold at the same days (Tuesdays/Thursdays), but Weekend WoEs now are: Saturday for Payon and Prontera. Sunday for Al De Baran and Geffen.
  • Changed the standard WoE mechanics: WoE now only lasts 30 minutes, but on Emp-break the timer is reset back to 30 minutes. Maximum WoE duration is 1.5 hours as before.

Skills

  • Two Hand Quicken now works on Two-Handed Spears as well.
  • Sight Trasher no longer ends the Sight status, but reduces 3 secs off its remaining duration.
  • Rich Man Kim's EXP bonus is no longer erased as soon as the monster walks out of the dance, instead it starts decreasing every second (to allow the bard/dancer to encore and retake the previous EXP bonus).
  • Holy Water now produces up to five bottles per cast.
  • Cultivation's max level has been raised to 10. Now every two levels you can summon an extra mushroom/plant. So at levels 9/10 you can summon 5 mushrooms/plants per cast.

Bug Fixes

  • Corrected Pori Pori hunt letting the monster pick as next map a town map.
  • Fixed Redemptio costing HP from alive party-members.
  • Fixed Cultivation plants not dropping any items.
  • Player summoned monsters no longer can drop random items/scrolls/etc.
  • Fixed the stacking of delay-reducing items.

June 14, aData bump.

Due to the inexplicable amount of people who have problems with the two latest new hairstyles, who cannot get them to display even when they have a fully updated kRO installation (which is weird like heck as my installation is just that, vanilla kRO updated), I have added the missing hair files to the adata.grf. Also updated the installers to include this new version of the adata.grf file.

If you have hairstyle woes, get the updated adata.grf now.
