October 10, Translation Complete

Just an update to the bdata.grf, I finally completed translations for all classes to use proper skill descriptions!

Now, that only took a year or two more than it should...

September 15, Consistency Check

Just a small update to make things more consistent.

General

  • Monsters, Pets and Homunculi now also follow the new ASPD rules. Previously monsters would only get higher ASPD with higher level, but now, if their build is STR focused, it will actually go down.
  • Reverted the behaviour of Vampire Gift / Wide Soul Drain by bosses to just be an ATK/MATK based skill, rather than draining a percentage of HP/SP.

Bug Fixes

  • Corrected the Homunculus info window displaying half the actual ASPD value.

September 2, Slow Down

Well, the biggest point of this update is the revamping of the ASPD system. The game suddenly got a lot more 'slow', at least for high-end ASPD classes, however, low ASPD characters will notice the opposite effect, with generally large ASPD increases.

General

  • Longing for Freedom now can be used inside Loki's Veil
  • Now all server messages are sent using "monster talk" packets in a light yellow/golden colour.
  • Modified Energy cost, now the SP cost is proportional to the amount of damage reduced (eg: If a 2k attack gets reduced to 1,5k, then the cost is 500/10 = 50 SP).
  • Revamped the ASPD mechanics. There is no longer a "minimum" nor "maximum" ASPD, only a "Default" ASPD. This in turn is modified by your stats: +0.4% * AGI, +0.2% * DEX, -0.3 * STR. The default ASPD is around 130 (depending on weapon specialization).

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed not being able to turn off Preserve
  • Fixed Wand of Hermode again requiring portals.

Moar stuff ~

General

  • Modified the "@diff" mechanics. Now your difficulty will control directly the level of monsters, rather than being influenced by the current map's levels. That is, running around with "@diff 100" will cause monsters in all maps to be very close to your own level. Random monsters still cannot be spawned with levels lower than (default - 15), though.
  • Adjusted monster spawn quantities. The base amount was reduced by 20%, and @diff now affects spawn rates directly (ie: 120% -> 20% more spawns), however the modifier is capped to the range 50%~150%.
  • Reduced the Deviling Cards penalties from -30% to -20% non-neutral resist.
  • Adjusted the SP growth level. They aren't linear anymore, on the contrary, the SP boost per level decreases now with each level. This is mostly because having +1k SP for Lord Knights is just a bit absurd.

Skills

  • Increased Rapid Shower's delay from 2*ASPD to 4*ASPD.
  • Decreased Vulcan Arrow's delay to 5 * ASPD
  • Cannibalize now takes into account plants summoned by non-enemies to consider the maximum amount to spawn.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed SP recovery skills being broken and healing huge amounts of SP
  • Fixed combos delaying too much your attack sequence.
  • Fixed the LUK stat calculation for pets.
  • Fixed splash skills hitting the selected target twice.

August 26, Balance

Mostly some skill balancing changes.

General

  • Updated the bdata.grf.
  • Updated core to R14940
  • Now monster drop rates will go up as they level, to a maximum of double drop rates.
  • The Horn card now reduces ranged damage by 30%, with the following two penalties: walk speed -10% and AGI no longer reduces your attack recovery delay (meaning it gets fixed to the longest value of 0.8 secs).

Skills

  • Sonic Blows now is a one-hit skill that temporarily boosts your ASPD. During the boost you also get a small chance to stun your opponent.
  • Modified Sacrifice (Paladin's Martyr's Reckoning) . Now it consumes 2+Lv% of your HP, and the lost HP is added to your attack. Skill modifier has been changed to +10*Lv%
  • Attention Concentrate's ASPD bonus has been raised to 30%
  • True Sight no longer gives a raw boost of 20% damage, rather, it increases your Weapon's ATK by 3*lv% (+30% at L10).
  • Disarm is now a damage skill with similar characteristics to Strip Weapon, but it has a higher success rate (10% higher), with a lower duration (30 secs).

Bug Fixes

  • Corrected some Bosses/MvPs in scripted maps spawning with a too high level (higher than the default and difficulty specified ones).
  • Fixed Self Destruction not working.
  • Fixed SP regen skills giving absurdly high values.
  • Fixed normal attacks from non-players using their elemental attribute.
  • Fixed normal attacks from players not using their weapon's elemental attribute.
