March 2, bdata bump

Small update to the bdata.grf file, in which the Sniper skill tree is fixed (they previously couldn't raise their land-mine skill!)

Gah, no updates in a whole month? I really need to make more time for MouRO ;_;

January 31, Fixing the Client

There's a new version of the client out. Version 2010-01-26 fixes the hot-key saving issue, so now battle-mode is fully usable. Also added a new bdata.grf version that properly considers Ninja and Gunslinger as 2nd classes rather than first ones.

January 22, Rebirth

It's been 22 days since the server went down. But it is finally back up, with a slew of new features! Well, okay, not that many new features, but enough worth mentioning.

General

  • Added the 2010013 clients. MouRO now uses the Ragnarok Renewal Clients
  • Updated the adata.grf to include most of the renewal interface client translations.
  • Updated the bdata.grf (essential to use the renewal client!)
  • Added a hunter ranking bonus. Whenever you kill a monster without the aid of other players, it increases. The hunter ranking allows you to gain additional experience and higher loot rates as long as you are hunting on your own. See Gwen Myers (or the event section of this site) for details.
  • Slightly altered the name of the pet food for Shinobi and Incubus to make it easier for players to tell them apart.
  • Changed the ArchAngeling's HP bonus to be HPRecovery+Luk%

Monsters

  • The incarnation of morroc monsters can now be found in the Geffenia maps.
  • Now each map holds the concept of "map difficulty" which is measured by "level of monsters"/"average level of players." This difficulty is used to modify the following monster behaviours:
    • Influences the variety (classes) of monsters spawning.
    • Influences the amount of spawning mobs.
    • Influences the skill strength of monsters (eg: high diff enables monsters to use stronger skills earlier on and at higher levels).

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed the menu entry "See people distribution" allowing people to warp into the guild dungeons.
  • Fixed a bug which caused guardians to get stuck or disappear when you invested in defence.

November 19, Let the carnage begin

Or rather, this update makes the game easier for soloers, while scaling up the challenge for parties.

November 19

  • Allied guilds now also get access to the guild dungeons.
  • Adjusted the skill usage rate for monsters. It is by default lower, and increases more with the number of players on a map than by the monster's level when compared to before.
  • Adjusted the number of random mob classes to be dynamic with the number of players. Now maps have "one" type of random monster, and the count increases by one for every two players on said map. The extra monsters that don't spawn are now added to the ones spawning (eg: if a map has 40 poring, 20 poporing, and 15 x2 random mobs, if only one random mob spawns, the extra 15 is split between the other three, proportionally).
  • The minimum party exp share value has been set back to 1%.
  • Improved the crafted (Emeralda) so she can work on items in parallel. Though her work queue becomes full once she's working on five items at a time.
  • @monster will no longer let you spawn unused monsters.
  • Added commands to the test server: @repair, @idsearch, @heal
  • Fixed @commands not showing all your commands (if they had multiple invocation methods)

November 04

It's fine-tuning time for the master crafter script.

General

  • Updated the bdata.grf
  • Eased a bit the DMR for DEF/MDEF, meaning it is easier to get higher values in these two parameters now.
  • Improved the Necklace of oblivion so it is not so complicated to use anymore. The normal lure will capture monsters at level one always, but a new shop in the mall can sell you the "enchanted" versions of these. For instance, if you buy a L100 Necklace of Oblivion, captured monsters will retain their level (up to 100). It offers three sets: L50, L100, and L150 lures; with prices adjusted as needed.
  • Removed the "Zeny has weight" mechanic as it often just confuses players.

Guild Dungeons and Emeralda

  • Reduced the mithril ore quantity requirements for crafting.
  • The power of heal and the cast time of resurrection are left unaffected for Guild Dungeons now.
  • The guild dungeon monsters now have a common drop at a high drop rate (Gold Coin). This is mostly to prevent steal from only getting rare items, but it also provides back a bit of money for those farming there.
  • Raised the drop rate of mithrils and the "spirit of" drops in the guild dungeons.

Test Server

  • Added to the test server the commands: @changejob, @skillall, and @dropall
  • Also Improved @item so you can specific a name with spaces without a need for quotes (eg: @item heavy shield)
