Training Grounds
Everyone new to MouRO should start here. The training grounds provides an easier way to start getting acknowledged with this world. It also provides an obstruction free method of levelling at first, as these maps cannot be visited by higher level players that could otherwise interfere with your learning process. Read more about it here.
Hunter Ranking
The purpose of this event is to make the effectiveness of hunting/levelling not so bad when you are alone. By hunting enemies on your own, you can rake in points which in turn increase your gained experience and loot. The rules of the game as are follow:
- Each time you defeat a monster, your ranking goes up by one.
- Higher ranking will increase gained experience and loot rates.
- The maximum bonus depends on the difficulty of the monster.
- If you defeat a monster with the help of another person, your hunt record is erased.
- You also lose your record when you die or logout.
- Use '@info hunt' to query your current hunter status.
- You are allowed to use homunculus, pets or clones, they won't delete your record.
Note that the "event" is automatic and triggers whenever you start hunting monsters alone.
Cloning: Vengeful Plants in PvP
Some pvp maps have these 'vengeful plants' in them, they look just like shining plants, but when you hit them, they retaliate by creating a clone of yourself! This clone will be aggressive and will try to wipe out anything that moves. There's a delay of a minute before a plant can recreate another clone, but some maps have several such plants, which allows for some clone-mayhem.
Kafra Poll: Changing the main town Kafra
At St. Capitolina, the Kafra Customer Satisfaction Poll Program (organized by the Kafra Agent) takes place every week. Players are allowed to vote for their favourite Kafra character, and at the end of the week the winner becomes the new Kafra for the next week.
There are a few special rules regarding this event:
- This week's winner is not eligible for the next week.
- Tallies for candidates are halved each week, while the winner's total is set to zero.
- Voting is restricted to once every eight hours.
Dead Branches: Town Invasions
Every town (except St. Capitolina) has a 'Deviruchi' npc which is hidden somewhere (you can sense his presence by the squiggling sound he makes). This Deviruchi will eat your branches and in exchange it will spawn a bunch of monsters!
- The amount of monsters per each branch depends on the size of the town (larger towns get more mobs per branch)
- After you feed the Deviruchi, he will hide for 5 minutes (which means you can't re-feed him during that time).
- There will be a server announce each time a group of monsters is summoned.
- You can feed the deviruchi dead branches (which spawn normal mobs), bloody branches (which spawn mvps) or poring boxes (each one spawns the same amount of monsters 25 dead branches would).
- Every 250 monsters defeated a poring box will drop near the deviruchi (there is a map announce).
- Every 1000 monsters defeated a bloody branch will drop near the deviruchi (there is a map announce).
- The spawned monsters will all be called in the same way as the player who used the branches (or 'Poring' if he used a poring box) and they will all be based on the level of the character and increase in level based on the number spawned (so a low level person can make a low-level invasion, and a high level person likewise).
- 5% of the monsters as their "Big" version, it also comes with double the level of the others. Effectively meaning you can fight level 300 monsters with +50% strength, a challenge to even the best parties.
* Spawned monsters have a lifetime of 7 server days (56 hours).
Ultimate Item Creation: Emeralda and the Spirits of forging.
Somewhere in the depths of the Yggdrasil tree roots roams a particular character named Emeralda. She has the unique ability of being capable of producing any piece of equipment you desire, but it has a rather steep list of requirements:
- The materials required for forging are usually Mithril and a "Spirit of..." catalyst. Both can be found by the monsters which inhabit the Guild Dungeons.
- The rarer items will additionally require a very rare item that can only be found from certain MvPs or Treasure Chests (they are the catalysts that are also used to create the God weapons).
- The rarity of the item will determine the amount of basic materials needed and price.
- Once materials are collected, Emeralda will set herself to work, but she can only work on one item at a time, and more valuable items will indeed take longer than others.
- Once she's finished creating the item, it gets directly shipped to the owner using the Mail system.
World Map Wandering: Treasure Hunting
This is an automatic event that takes place every hour. The general layout for the event is:
- A random field map is picked. There will be a server announce specifying that a treasure has been spotted in this map.
- On that map you must find a 'Treasure Guardian', which is a randomly picked MvP that can actually level up AND down through the difficulty setting (so the mvp could be as low as level 2~5).
- Defeat the guardian. Upon defeat a global announce will notify others who defeated the guardian. At this point, a random treasure chest (those from WoE castles) will spawn at the feet of the killer, and you can claim whatever drops.
- Once a guardian has been spawned, you have 8 hours to find it before it is automatically gone.
World Map Wandering 2: The Pori Pori Hunt
Another automatic event that is an extension of Treasure Hunting. The general layout for the event is:
- There are three "Pori Pori" monsters somewhere in the world map. You need a specific item that can be gained through Treasure Hunting to reveal their locations.
- These Pori Pori are perhaps the strongest monster, being able to summon monsters from the current map, as well as clone enemy players, but his level is not fixed, it is also variable and affected by difficulty.
- On defeat, the target will retreat to an adjacent map, everyone on the same map will be notified of what this next map is; allowing you to continuously hunt him down while travelling the world.
Random Minibosses: Big Monster, Little Minions
At a low rate, when a monster spawns it will become "large", and be accompanied by minions of "small" size.
- Number of minions increases with the monster's level.
- The minions are randomly picked monsters from the current map.
- There is a high chance of spawning a larger monster the first time those map's monsters are spawned. Guaranteeing the existence of at least one such monster when walking into a new map.
- Big monsters have higher stats and HP, and yield additional exp as well as drop rates.
- Small monsters have slightly reduced stats and HP
Sealed MvPs: MvPing for the whole family
All non-quest MvPs now must be unlocked in order to fight them. This is known in-game as the Seal system:
- Each dungeon's seal has a strength directly proportional to the number of floors it has.
- To break the seal, "guardian monsters" (which is the same as the Big Monster, but with normal sized minions) must be defeated.
- After the seal is broken, the MvP will spawn, but using the average level of the defeated guardians.
- Defeating additional guardians will then increase the level of the MvP.
- The seal's strength will recover with time, causing released MvP's to slowly lose their level. If the release level goes back to 0, the MvPs are automatically removed.
- After all MvPs are eliminated (some dungeons have two), the seal is restored back to its original state.
Gefenia: The forsaken realm
Gefenia is the custom dungeon where you can find most of the game's mini-bosses and mvps lurking around. It allows for a unique challenge that cannot be found elsewhere.
- Level 1 is filled with the less threatening mini-bosses such as the different poring variations.
- Level 4 has all the other mini-bosses that look a bit more threatening like Abyss Knights.
- Level 2 has the MvPs which generally look like demi-humans or beasts.
- Level 3 contains the more sinister and/or demonic looking MvPs.
- There are two special MvPs locked away in these realms: Event Baphomet and Pori Pori
