July 28, Emergency!?

Just an Emergency update to properly support the new client.

July 28

  • Reverted the behaviour of Sanctuary as it ended up being too strong.
  • The character "online" count no longer takes into account vendors.
  • Corrected HP bar updates and Equipment acknowledgements for the new client.
  • Steal Coin and Steal will now automatically stop once successful when used with @option 3 (reuse fixed range skills)
  • Added DMR effect to equipment Heal bonuses.

July 26, Emergency Update

I have a strange feeling of déjà vu here...

July 26

  • Added the July 07 clients.
  • Updated the bdata.grf. This version is needed for the July client.
  • Corrected the novice grounds script to prevent "double" messages appearing if you relog.
  • Corrected a few WoE Arena bugs.
  • Corrected the Holy Light bonus for the Medic's suit combo.
  • Corrected the equippable jobs for the daggers Krieg and Voina.
  • The Quve card now grants a 5% chance of auto-casting L1 Emergency Avoid.
  • The Lude card now grants a 10% chance of auto-casting L2 Reject Sword.
  • Disabled creating accounts with less than four characters (in case you tried something like max_M, that would prevent you from ever logging in as account names need to have at least four characters).

July 22 : Fix It, Damn it!

Small things... mostly fixes. Hopefully this update should correct, once and for all, all missing item sprite issues.

July 22

  • Updated the item_db, deleting along the way multiple items that had either no sprite, or no headgear sprite.
  • "Monster Property/Sense" is now usable on players.
  • Reduced the default selling price for headgears, as it was making the Old Blue Box the most reliable method for earning zeny.
  • The habitat restoration speed now depends on the distance to the closest city. So farther away maps regenerate much faster.
  • Items that are unrefinable will now count as if they had +10 refine for scripts (eg: most Glorious Weapons).

And the last minute update, to test "a new WoE"

July 23

  • Disabled Sense from working on players. Instead, now Guild Castles will behave more like PvP (so damage is displayed and there are no guild banners above characters).

July 19, Busy!

I expect to get busy in the upcoming days, so here comes a quick update with what I've done so far.

July 19

  • Updated the bdata.grf
  • Auto-refine to +12 will no longer take effect on items which were left at +0 (fixes non-refineable items being upgraded)
  • Items that used to reduce Holy Light cast time have been changed to increase its power instead.
  • Reverted Lord of Dead card to work on ranged weapons, too.
  • Re-added the second Majestic Goat headgear, fixed its sprite view value.
  • Autoblitz now works on all weapon types.
  • Disabled HP regen while dead on Guild Castles.
  • Added a way to calculate the distance between maps and the nearest town. This value isn't used for anything yet, but I am sure I can come up with some practical use for it afterwards...

July 20

  • Updated the monster and item database to implement the remaining "Another World" monster cards.
  • Updated the card shop with the new cards.
  • Corrected script for the headgear "Feather of Bijofnil"

July 13, Logback

The usual small batch of updates for now, as well as adding a Guild Storage log manager. His name is Arcturus (can be found inside the main building of St. Capitolina) and he enables Guild leaders to browse their guild's storage log.

July 13

  • Added Arcturus, guild storage log manager.
  • Corrected a bug when mixing the teleport skill with teleporting items.
  • Changed BioCannibalize's behaviour in WoE: now it summons one plant per cast, but there's no reuse delay. Different types can now also be mixed.
  • Fixed a few healing skills being able to go beyond the max of 9999.
  • A few fixes on the Guild Arena room, to make it behave closer to guild castles.
  • Modified the High Priest card to auto cast Assumptio L2
  • Guardian/Emperium used skills now have no cast time (as it caused client glitches). For balance, these monsters no longer get random skills that have a caster time longer than one sec, neither.

And a small follow up.
July 14

  • Applied some restrictions to the WoE damage balancing code. The bonus limits are now set to 80%~120% (+/- 20% damage), but said gap grows larger by 5% for each additional player of discrepancy (eg: 2vs1 yields a max bonus of 125%, while 3vs1 would be 130%). Should document this somewhere else, too...
