May 06, Incremental Steps

Just a batch of incremental updates to the server.

May 06

  • Added some skill effects that can be removed by Dispell (as it should technically clear any and all skill states): Warmth, Strip and Chemical Protections.
  • Increased the duration of Devotion to 30+30*lv secs, SP cost raised to 35.
  • Added some code to automatically correct position desync. It is triggered when you try to walk and the walk-request fails (it may take a few tries to trigger, but it'll trigger a lot quicker if you are being attacked).
  • Reverted a few more WoE rules: No more minimum cast time, cards don't have their effects reduced.
  • Damage reductions for WoE and PvP were relaxed a bit, from 75%(normal attacks) and 50% (skills) to 80%/60%.

May 1st, Server Update

Finally, a somewhat decent update. Maybe.

May 1st

  • Added some "rarity" information to accessories (for random drops). Rather than them all having the minimum drop rate, now they have a value estimated from their def, number of slots, equip level and size of their script (so accessories with longer scripts are considered rarer).
  • Improved the ASPD for Super Novices so they will use the best available ASPD from every 1st class (eg: swordman's speed with swords, acolyte's speed with maces, etc).
  • Moved the "pet incubator" item to Kelly's shop.
  • Now using amulets while outside a party will cause you to warp to your last save point.
  • Reduced the Max HP% bonus to Guardians from +5*Defense% to +2*Defense%
  • Added damage adjustment information to the output of "@info woe" when used during Guild Wars and while inside a castle.
  • Updated the WoE scripts so that the DST time changes are detected automatically on server startup.
  • Now the amount of monsters in the castle invasions goes up with the defense level of the castle.
  • Now defense and economy go up by 5 points rather than 3 each time a Monster castle is conquered.

April 23, Server Update

Not a big one, but an update nevertheless.

  • Updated server to version R14287 (this fixed storage/trade problems on the current renewal client)
  • Added long range and critical damage bonuses to output of "info self"
  • Corrected the Kafra error message so that it will properly tell players when they can't open the guild storage because their guild position doesn't allow it.

April 14, Deja vu?

As luck may have it, recently patched RO installations cause another change in the lua files which complicates things for some people! So I released an updated hexed client and bdata.grf that will work with completely patched installations.

March 19, Client Update

:< Gah, I need more time to work on the server :x

Anyway, I took off some valuable hours of my time to resolve an issue people who have patched recently bumped into. Some of the lua file formats have changed, therefore the previous client will no longer work with a fully patched Renewal install.

If you are updated enough, you can now use the March 17 clients and accompanying bdata.grf (note that you must be updated to use both of these releases!):

PS: This client changes the file where user hotkeys are stored from files/UserKeys.lua to files/UserKeys_s.lua, so rename your file if you don't want to redo your hotkeys!
