October 31, The Test Server Strikes Back

That's right, the test server is back, and this time its here to stay.

It is now running directly off the same hosting machine. The list of features is:

  • It will be available at all times while the main server is (unless I am working/testing on it)
  • It will always be using the most current data directly from the live server.
  • It only has a few maps available: St. Capitolina, PvP, and the Gefenia maps.
  • The extra test commands you get are: @zeny, @item, @refine, @monster, @lvup, @joblvup, @changejob.
  • It uses a "read-only" connection to the SQL server, meaning that no matter what you do with your character, changes are impossible to be saved back into the live server's database.

You can access the test server after logging in to MouRO, the test server will be a second server available from the selection list.

October 30, The Crafter

This update's main focus is the inclusion of the new Equipment crafter which enables creation of any item. Though it requires guild-dungeon access for material collecting.

General

  • Changed the @diff command to use a scale between 1 and 200% rather than 1~100%.
  • Now you can use a backslash as alternative command symbol (eg: \pdiff 100)
  • Set the minimum EXP share in parties to be 0% again.
  • Accessories no longer have their random drop rating set from their "equip level" & defence, as many powerful accessories had both of them set to 0, thus making them easily obtainable. Instead, their drop rating is determined by the actual drop rate of these items from monsters and prices in shops.
  • Super Novices can now raise their quest skills through Nichol Masters (the current client blocks them from raising these by themselves).
  • Added 'Emeralda,' the universal equipment crafter. You can find her in the Yggdrasil map, and through her you can produce/make any equipment in existence. She will however require crafting materials which are either obtained from MvPs, Treasure Chests and the monsters that now populate the Guild Dungeons. Depending on the rarity of the item, she will also require lots of Zeny and time.

Monsters

  • The rate at which monsters support each other now is related to the number of players on a map.
  • Updated many of the later mobs (another world) to give them proper DEF/MDEF values and a basic set of skills.

WoE

  • Equipment now gets bumped to +12 only in maps with the mapflag "maxlevel" (which sets you to Base Level 150).
  • Removed the innate 50% SC resist in WoE-3, however there's still an innate -50% duration for status changes.
  • Reduced the Emperium's Max HP/SP % increase to 1% every 15 secs (from 1% every 10).
  • Removed the Daylight Time Savings hour offset from the WoE schedule.
  • You can no longer directly warp to the WoE dungeons without owning a castle.

More adjustments for WoE, and a small improvement to healing drops.

  • Random healing drops will now take into account the monster's level, so the higher level monsters are unable to drop the weaker healing items.
  • Added a damage boost/reduction for WoE when the attackers/defenders are outnumbered. The bonus is of the form: 0.5*(X-Y/)/X, where X is the higher number between attackers/defenders, and Y is the other group. For instance, if you have 4 vs 6 people, the bonus becomes 0.5*2/6 -> 16.6% more damage dealt by the outnumbered group, and 16.6% less damage dealt to them.
  • Card effects are now reduced by 1/3rd rather than 50%
  • Changed the minimum delay for skills to 700ms rather than 1 sec.
  • WoE skill cast/delays are now increased by 10%
  • There are no longer any ASPD adjustments for WoE
  • Flee and Def/Mdef now receive a 20% reduction in WoE
  • Equipment refinement is now autobumped to +12 for versus grounds.
  • Items again recover 100% of their value for WoE

  • Changed a bit the damage modifiers for woe and pvp: Skills are still set to 50%, but Normal attacks are now set to 75%.
  • Did some cleanup to the woe scripts so that it stops saying that "woe is active" when it has already ended (due to the 30 minute rule timer)
  • Healing rates for items and skills are halved now for versus grounds.
  • Reenabled usage of resurrection skills in woe, but their cast time is unreducible, and their healing amount is halved. Redemptio will also take double the time to be casted.

  • Updated the bdata.grf file.
  • Chepet Card now casts Chaotic Benediction L5 on attack rather than Heal.
  • Earth Elemental Armour now causes Petrify when attacked, Holy elemental ones cause blind.
  • Hp/Sp leech skills such as Energy/Blood Drain no longer drain anything when used against undead.
  • Now both Saturday and Sunday WoE are the "new version" for consistency.
  • The "nowarpto" flag has been removed in WoE castles, and is instead set/unset when WoE begins/ends. This should allow items like Giant Fly Wing or Amulet to work during non-woe times.
  • Weekend WoEs attackers now get a +2% Atk/Matk bonus.
  • Resurrection is now banned from WoE
  • Reenabled item usage for WoE, however scrolls are still disabled.
  • Dark Element Scroll now grants Dark Armour Level 3 rather than +20 resist to the four basic elements.
  • Reduced a bit the speed at which the Eco level of maps increases.
  • The Eco level of maps now also influences rates at which random items drop.
