September 18, another turn of the wheel...
Posted September 18th, 2009 by SkotlexSeptember 18
- The total online time counter for each player will now remove "idle time" for a more accurate of real time spent online.
- The "return point" of Guild castles has been set next to the respective GVG Kafra (the one in the map with access to all castles). You get warped to this position if you logout or respawn within the castle.
- Sundays are "normal" woe now (without the new rules in design/testing).
- Cards/equipment scripts are reenabled for WoE-3, but their effects are now halved.
- Ashura Strike will only hit once when used in WoE-3
- Improved the effects of elemental armours. Having an element now has a slight additional bonus to it based on element:
- Fire Armor : causes bleeding
- Water Armor : freezes enemies
- Wind Armor : confuses enemies
- Earth Armor : blinds enemies
- Ghost Armor : reduced HP/SP% recovery (the penalty was removed from the ghostring card)
- Poison Armor : poisons enemies
- Shadow Armor : curses enemies
- Holy Armor : silences enemies
- Undead Armor : Grants HP leeching on every attack, has a low chance of self-reviving when dead regardless of how filled up the HP bar is.
- Fixed Magic-Rod / Spell reflection triggering on double-casted magic.
- Fixed all equipment in pvp becoming refined to +10 regardless of actual level.
- Reduced a bit the habitat bonus/penalty so it doesn't max out at 100%, rather it maxes at 50% (meaning +/-50% drop rates rather than +/-100%)
September 11
Posted September 11th, 2009 by SkotlexAdded a few more WoE related things, and basic data collection for future events.
September 11
- Added information regarding the effect of weather changes on the habitat. Maps under a weather effect have their habitat prospering at much higher rate than normal maps.
- Now the minimap will display castle locations while WoE is active (saving the hassle of walking into an inactive castle during WoE).
- Added Castle ownership bonus to guilds: Every guild member receives a bonus of +1 to Max Hp/Sp and +1 to All Stats per conquered castle. This bonus does not take effect in maps where WoE is active.
- Summon Flora will now only allow one type of plant per screen in WoE maps to prevent garden-rush.
- Decreased the ASPD difference between different weapon types for the new WoE.
- Resurrection's cast time is now unaffected by stats and equips in WoE, but it will revive with normal HP levels and without zapping SP if successful.
- Now the following stats per player are collected: MvPs Sealed, Treasure Guardians defeated, Pori Poris defeated, online time. The monster counter isn't just a counter, it adds "Monster Lv/10" points, so hunting higher level monsters raises the counter faster. And the online timer will not count idle time (not yet in). There is currently no use to these stats other than to craft Top 100 lists later on, but since the data is available to NPCs, it can be used for events eventually.
September 03, WoE 3.0
Posted September 3rd, 2009 by SkotlexWell, not the official WoE, but getting the weekend WoE modified to make room for a more challenging event which should be based more on skill than equips/cards. Or that's the idea, we shall see how it goes (don't forget to provide feedback in the forums):
September 03
- Now your build is saved when you swap classes, meaning that when you revert to your previous class your build will be restored (if you levelled up in the meantime, extra stat points are left unused, if you levelled down, then a build interpolation is done, as if you had rolled back).
- Added the command @keys to enable hotkey management. Now you can save up to three different hot-key sets, and load them at will. Useful if your WoE/PvM/PvP skill usage varies significantly, or if you like using the job swapper to alternate between classes.
- Moved a bit the monsters in the training grounds, as baby leopard was too hard for its default location.
- Reduced some more the experience gained on the MvP simulation room (as it isn't meant to be a levelling spot)
- Changed the Slay Counter into an Habitat meter. Slaying monsters raises the extinction level, which in turn makes monsters spawn slower, and hurts drop rates. On the other hand, maps left unvisited become prosperous, and monster drop rates increase accordingly.
- Changed the way monster levels are calculated on the dead branch Deviruchi. Rather than all monsters being the user's level, and big monsters being twice his level, now the base level is the user's, but increased by the number of branches used (eg: use 20 branches and monsters will have 20% more level), while big monsters will spawn with 33% higher level than the rest.
- Improved the bonuses of forged weapons (unmentioned bonuses were not modified):
- Water weapons now increase Max HP/SP by 10%, Recovery by 25% and the Matk convert rate is +30%.
- Wind weapons now increase Flee by 10% and reduce cast/delay times by 20%
- Job level is now also set to Max in "max level" maps (eg: pvp)
- Changed the WoE rules for the weekends. The following is the list of changes for now:
- Pets are only disabled in these maps, so they can partake on the week-day WoE
- Items are disabled (but you can use potion pitcher)
- All skills (with a cast time) have a minimum cast time of one sec (two if they are ground-targeted)
- All damage in WoE has been reduced by 50%
- Equipment upgrades is set to +0
- The ASPD of weapons is now adjusted: Your weapon ASPD is averaged with the ASPD of a Swordman's Dagger (default ASPD) and the min~max ASPD range reduced.
- Lowest delay for all skills is 1 sec
- Cards are disabled
- Extra effects of forged weapons are disabled.
- The only equipment script bonus that works is "Mdef"
- The base Def/Mdef of players is set to 25 rather than 0.
- Players have an innate +50% resist to status changes.
August 17, fixes.
Posted August 17th, 2009 by SkotlexMostly fixes this time around, and an improvement to the Treasure Hunt/Pori Pori events.
August 17
- Enabled back pets in WoE, except they simply do nothing and can no longer be targeted (thus, it is like before, minus the need to use pet incubators after each WoE).
- Corrected being able to capture monsters inside the training grounds.
- @diff now shows the current player count and the monster slay count.
- Corrected the delay between a few messages on the third level of the training grounds.
- Added damage reflection data to @info self
- Changed the Treasure Chest used in Treasure Hunting to be special, it contains: Dead Branch Box, Poring Box, Bloody Branch Box, Oridecon Box, Elunium Box, Old Card Album, Dried Food Box, Special Gift Box, and PRO Box.
- Changed the drops of Pori Pori to be those of the Treasures from treasure hunting, with slightly higher rates (and Bubble Gum/Battle Manual instead of Ori/Elu boxes).
- Modified three item to give random items: Dried Food box gives a random +10 stat food. PRO Box gives a random equipment from Battlegrounds / WoE:SE, and Gift Box gives a few selected goodies/rares.
August 11, Followup
Posted August 11th, 2009 by SkotlexWell, a few important bug fixes forced an update before time. Though there are a few goodies this time around, too.
August 11
- Now you can use @who to search by name as well, when a non-number if specified (eg: "@who Sk" to display all online chars that contain 'sk' within their name).
- Changed the default display of "@info party" to not include offline members.
- Now skills used while attacking will get gracefully interleaved with the normal attacks. What this means is that while attacking, using a skill won't cause you to interrupt your current attack and overlap the animation with the requested skill, instead the skill gets "set up" and is used after the current attack ends. This has the advantage that if you try to reuse a skill before its delay is over, it will be stored server-side and used automatically as soon as the delay is over (assuming said skill does not cancels your attack sequence).
- Changed the announce colour for messages used in the training grounds.
- Disabled Worn out Scrolls and Butterfly wings from the mvp simulation room and the training grounds.
- Added a skill use animation to Counter Attack.
- Slave monsters are no longer "Boss type," for the time being this only applies to cloned mobs.
- Added some dummy experience to the "new" mobs to cause them to be selectable from random mobs.
- Improved the random mob selection process when too many matches are available (previously only the 50 first matches would be candidates, causing the rest to be ignored).
- Reduced a bit the walking speed penalty from having high VIT, the bonus/penalty is now DMR'ed as well so it becomes less harsh as you invest more on the stat.
- Improved the Max HP boost from Vit to be +0.75% MaxHP per point rather than +0.5%, this also means that the default Max HP boost without Vit went down.
- Corrected the Guardian mini-dot indication on the map not correctly updating its colour based on the level of the guardian.
